Even though a blog’s “About Me” page provides the basic particulars of an author or content creator, there is usually so much more regarding their personality and interests to share. The little things are what make a relationship work and are what folks relate to. So, I’ve gathered a few personal (but not too personal) questions that will undoubtedly shed some light on who I am and what I’m all about. Let’s get to know me a bit more!

All time favourite book?
Personally, I don’t have a preferred book. Though I do have a favourite author – Wally Lamb. I have read nearly all of his books and they are all effing fantastic! His writings usually surround slightly controversial subject matter – mental health, racism, sexual assault. Wally Lamb has a gift when it comes to his novels in that he really sucks you in! As a reader, one is draw into the story line and really feels for the characters Mr. Lamb has created. I highly recommend any and all of his books!
What is one food you could eat every day?
Though it doesn’t always agree with me – I really love carbs! If I could eat pasta every single day, I would. Another food I really love is cheese! Cheese is so versatile and you can never really add too much to a dish! And sweets will always have a special place in my heart. I bake a lot, so I usually have cookies, squares, or treats of some sort in the house – at all times!
Would you rather drive or fly?
The short answer. Drive. All throughout my childhood, we drove to wherever we were going. We traveled all through the US – Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida – either in my family’s boat-of-a-car or my Uncle’s motor home. Many memories were made during those long car rides!
Total disclosure here, I’ve only recently taken my first plane ride. As a fun little activity late this past summer, my little family took our first little flight! We booked a solo plane tour through a local airfield and took a wee voyage over our local community and surrounding area. My stomach didn’t really care for the ride, but the experience was worth it!
Would you rather work in an office or work from home?
It was only recently that I got a taste of what life is like working from home and I cannot say that I enjoyed it. The pandemic undoubtedly brought some changes to our everyday lives – including our kids “attending” school remotely. I am so thankful that my employer is super understanding and provided a laptop so I was able to work from home while my daughter completed grade three online.
To say I would rather work in an office is a vast understatement! While working from home (with our daughter at home as well) my personality drastically changed. And by that I mean I turned into a raging bitch! My family life kind of suffered while being home and I happily returned to my sweet self when I was able to get back to work (outside of my home) full time.
Check out how I decorated my work office!
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up I never really had any dreams of wanting to be anything in particular. I did, however, know what I did not want to do – and that was run a business in the hospitality industry and drag my family along with me! The shit some parents (mine) put their kids through!
After high school I really just wanted to get out of the house and I jumped at the first college who accepted my application. After a bout of depression and a lot of soul searching, I found my professional calling – accounting – and I’ve been working in the accounting field for more than fifteen years.
If you could only wear 1 outfit for a month, what would it be?
Anything that isn’t too restricting! If that means I am destined to wear Lululemons and over-sized tees for the rest of my life than so be it! Sitting at a desk all day requires comfortable clothing that doesn’t dig into my mid-section because, let’s be real, I have some belly rolls! There is absolutely no shame in wanting to be cozy!
Favourite movie of all time?
This is kind of tough to answer! I guess I really don’t have a favourite movie! I enjoy watching anything with Patrick Swayze and I can watch him all day! Am I dating myself here?? I have a soft spot for timeless love stories, like The Notebook, but also classic comedies, like Fast Times at Ridgemont High! My husband hates it, but I can watch a movie multiple times and never really get bored of it.
What made you laugh or smile today?
Well, first off, today (the day I am writing this post) is Friday! That instantly puts a smile of my face! A vendor was visiting this morning and brought donuts for the office, which was a lovely gesture! Just before my daughter and I left the house this morning I briefly scrolled through a few Instagram Reels. A quick mindless laugh is a great way to start the day!
Besides family, what brings you the most joy in your life?
Without a doubt – my content creating bring me so much joy and fulfillment! I was recently chatting with a friend about my blog and my current collaborations and she commented about how much my face lights up when I talk about blogging and photography and creating social media content! I never realized how much I enjoyed what I do as a side hustle until she pointed that out! I agree though – whole-heartedly! I truly love it!
Are you a saver or a spender?
Hmmm? How do I answer this honestly? I’d say a spender, but I’m working on saving! Honestly, I shop about once a month for myself. Usually online and usually something I don’t necessarily need but buy it anyways! I am attempting to curb my spending because there are a few updates I would like to do in our home. Mainly our kitchen! Nothing too drastic – just flooring, countertops, and backsplash! I am working on being more conscious about my purchases and setting some money aside for this little reno instead of purchasing useless crap.
Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Coffee over tea – without question! But there is a time and place when tea is definitely preferred over coffee. I try not to drink coffee after lunch so I don’t disrupt my sleep. In winter especially, I love a hot cup of tea in the afternoon or evening to warm up and unwind.
What is your superpower?
After the last eighteen months I’d say my superpower is adaptability! There is no doubt that I have achieved the power to adapt and just roll with it. Don’t get me wrong, I may not like it, but I can do it. You tell me that schedules, routines, and every day life in general is going to change in 48 hours – and I’m all set! Bring it on!
What are you currently binge watching?
Recently I watched the first three seasons of Yellowstone on Amazon Prime in preparation for the fourth season premiere in November. To say I’m excited in anticipation is a major understatement! This series is effing amazing! I kinda got lost in the series because when I’d look at the clock & discover I’d been watching television for five hours straight! Cannot wait to see what happens next!
Would you say you’re sentimental?
Yes, but really only in conversation. My daughter loves to hear the story of her birth! It was far from eventful, but she loves to talk about how she came into the world – which makes me feel incredibly happy and proud! But as far as keeping things for their sentimental value, that’s not really me.
Unless we’re going to use Great-Grandma’s antique dining room table, we don’t really want it. Besides photos, small keepsakes, and the odd item that may hold some nostalgia – we chose to remember by sharing stories and memories through conversation and reminiscing with family.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
That’s a firm no! I believe in lust at first sight!!! To those couples who have experienced this kind of love – all the power to you – but I just don’t work that way. My husband and I knew each other before we started dating and we dated for a few years before we got engaged. Surprisingly, my darling spouse said “I love you” first!
In my personal opinion, I feel there is so much to learn about another person that loving them instantly makes no sense. People can have multiple layers that only show themselves at certain times and on specific occasions. How can one fall head over heels immediately when they don’t know if someone snores or not!
Was this little “get to know me” session interesting?! A waste of time?!!
Hopefully these super insightful questions have given you a little glimpse into who I am both as a woman and as a content creator. I do feel there is some importance in getting to know writers and bloggers you follow in order to relate to their content on a more personal level.
