Summer will be nearing its end soon (boooo, but I love fall) and the cooler temperatures will be upon us before we know it. Thus, I need a new jacket for fall.

Even though it’s only July, I have a method to my madness! A fair few retailers are having summer blow-out sales – so there are huge discounts to be had!
For my needs, I require something practical. Of course I have bomber style jackets, blazers, a leather coat, etc – but I need an every day jacket to wear to and from – everything.
When school is back in (September 3rd!) I will be walking much more since we live so close to my daughter’s school, there’s no sense in driving. Getting a bit more exercise outdoors is always a plus, but it also means we’re subject to mother nature’s wrath.
So I need a jacket that can “weather the storm” so to speak.
My criteria is pretty simple – and I don’t think I’m being too picky here.
- Weather proof outer shell.
- A bit of a lining for cool mornings and evenings. Heavy enough, but not too heavy.
- Long enough to cover my butt. (Don’t like a soggy bottom.)
- Needs to have a hood. (Don’t want to look like a drowned rat.)
- A colour other than black. I know black is classic, but I like a bit of colour on occasion.
- Stylish. (Don’t need to elaborate on that one.)
- Not rediculously expensive. I don’t want to break the bank.
See, I’m not asking too much here, right?!
I’ve never bought any Bench clothing or outerwear before, but I’ve always liked their stuff. This particular coat ticks off much of my list, too.
This jacket would be perfect! Plus they’re having a sale right now!
Fairweather is a company I haven’t purchased from is years! Lovely clothing and manageable prices. I didn’t even know they carried jackets and coats. I’ve read good reviews on Canada Weather Gear products and this coat has everything that I’m looking for. You can also find Canada Weather Gear here.
Lululemon. Need I say more. This is a beautiful jacket, but I don’t feel it has the inner insulation that I’m looking for. Though I love this colour, Lulu is just a bit over-priced for me.
Columbia is always a winner! My winter coat is Columbia and I love it! Again, I don’t think this style has the extra lining that I’m needing (more than just a rain coat, but less than winter thickness). A fair few other criteria are met with this option though. Columbia products are also sold here.
I’ve shown you some great options (mainly researched for my own purposes, but sharing with you all!) in case you too are on the hunt for a new fall coat (can be used for Spring as well!).
