With Covid restrictions lifting in our community, we’re getting out and about a little more. Recently, we spent the day shopping at Masonville Place in London. Let me tell you – I was so excited to see all the styles and colours for Spring! And I wasn’t the only one. My ten year-old was just as exhilarated as me! Here are a few fashion (and accessory) style trends we’re crushing on for Spring.

A few Spring colour trends for 2022 – aka what we were seeing in all the mall storefronts!
These three amazing shades could be seen all over the mall – but especially at Hudson’s Bay. I picked up this Vera Moda sweater dress (pictured below) for under $100. Buttery soft knit and very flattering on my mid-size figure!
What really amazes me are the trends that are returning from twenty plus years ago. Styles like flared denim, velvet, corsets, and belt bags (ahem, fanny packs)!! But, then again, some fads never really go out of style. We recently bought our daughter Doc Martens – which my husband and I both wore in high school more than 25 years ago! Like I said, some styles will live on forever!

Does your tween daughter dress for comfort? Or style? Mine usually chooses a mix of both! She really craves comfort, but still wants to look cool. Though jeans aren’t really her thing at the moment, she’s still crushing on the distressed flares that are rolling out.

Sadly, my girl doesn’t frequent the kids section as much anymore. She’s growing like a weed and the cutesy characters don’t really appeal to her anymore. Plus, she’s into ladies sizing for shoes – already! This growth spurt and change in style isn’t all bad though! We shop the ladies’ department – as well as kids – and browse second hand and consignment a little more often.
More 90’s trends that are making a comeback are crop tops, graphic tees, slip dresses, claw clips, and corduroy. Great styles for both mom & daughter!
