Who Are We to Judge?

It was recently shared online that Kris Jenner bought her 9 year old grandson a coat that cost in excess of $3000.

Of course, this blew up on social media and the Jenner/Kardashian family was being shamed for being over-extravagant with their children and grandchildren.

But if this is the lifestyle they and their families are accustomed to living – than what’s wrong with it?

Who are we to judge their spending habits? Who are we to scrutinize over what they buy for their children?

Is $3000 too much to spend on a child’s coat? Yes, without a doubt. But I could be shamed for spending $120 on a Columbia jacket for my daughter. By no means is it as expensive as the aforementioned, but it still may be too extravagant by some people’s standards.

Kids grow very fast and clothing especially is usually outgrown before it’s ever worn out 90% of the time. But if a parent can afford to give their child this luxury, than who is the other guy to say boo about it?

Our daughter is not spoiled by any means, but she does have it pretty good, especially considering she’s an only child.

Having the expense of only one child allows us to splurge on her a little more than, perhaps, a family with two or more children.

Christmas is all about her, Birthdays are a bigger deal, and we do more outings with her since we are a smaller family than most.

Although people like to talk and stick their nose where it doesn’t belong, it’s ultimately no one’s business but their own what they choose to spend on their kids, or themselves.

So, in closing, don’t judge others for their spending (or life in general) choices. Do unto others. You don’t appreciate being judged, so don’t be what you hate.
