Final Noom Review

So, a tiny recap! I was given the opportunity to join the Noom affiliate program and in turn was gifted a four month subscription of the ever popular Noom program. These are my closing thoughts on the program with this final Noom review.

Thanks to Noom for supplying a free four month trial to help me write this post today! However, this post reflects my own personal opinion about the Noom program.

A brief synopsis of what Noom is.

Noom is a digital health platform that, in combination with real-life coaches, assists in consumer-led healthy lifestyle changes. Using psychology-based lessons, Noom helps to retrain how we approach eating and aids in guiding us to a healthier version of ourselves.

Pros and Cons of Noom.

  • Data Trackers. Having a place to log food, exercise, and even water intake helps to make us accountable for our actions each and every day. Taking the time to record what we ate for lunch and that 5km run can be encouraging and can help us to commit to ourselves. Keep in mind that we are not meant to become totally fixated on these trackers. Each day brings its own highs and lows and, after all, we are all only human. Don’t fret over too much calorie intake and not enough physical activity.
  • Community. Every Noom user is utilizing the same trackers and has similar goals as their fellow members.
  • Behavioral Changes. The whole concept behind Noom is to change your point of view and to make new and smarter choices. Planning is everything and learning to say “no thank you” will undoubtedly become a habit. But you have to be willing to make these changes. If your mind isn’t in it than you’re doomed to fail from the get go.

My Final Noom Review

Even though I was doing well with my Noom journey I did fall of the wagon at the end. The scale has remained pretty well consistent and my weight hasn’t really gone back up – which I am very proud of!

Nearing the end of my four month subscription, I made the decision to NOT continue using Noom. But even though I cancelled my subscription I am still taking a great deal of knowledge with me by using the program.

  • Work Week Lunches. Sitting at a desk all day does not expel a lot of energy! So I am smarter about what I take for lunch during the week and eat a fair bit lighter.
  • Let My Meals Digest. Prior to using Noom, I would constantly be eating and wouldn’t give my body time to process the food I was ingesting. That has changed and I am much more conscious about letting my meals digest properly.
  • Alcohol Intake. Cocktails and wine can bring your daily calorie intake up really quickly! Even though I love a hard seltzer or glass of wine at the end of the day, I dial my booze consumption back to maybe two or three days a week instead of five or six.
  • It’s okay to over eat. We are only human and fretting over eating or drinking too much isn’t worth the stress! Any time I over indulge, I just make a point to do better the next day. Life is meant to be enjoyed – so enjoy it!!

So, in conclusion, Noom really has taught me a lot about food and how to properly nourish my body. I no longer eat just to eat! I would honestly recommend Noom for those who are just starting on their journey to better health. Their program really does teach some important lessons on how to eat properly, why we approach food in certain (negative) ways, and how to make positive changes and decisions.
