Lavender Farm

Just over a month ago, my daughter and I inadvertently started a tiny tradition of mother-daughter outings. You know, something only she and I will appreciate (and daddy really could care less about). It all began with having a day off – just the two of us – and wanting to do or experience something new. Our first excursion was to a beautiful lavender farm just under an hour from our home.

Lavender Works Co. lavender farm was our destination.

Visiting a lavender farm was a new experience for both T and myself – so we were super excited to get there! Located a little ways from Brussels Ontario, Lavender Works Co. was relatively easy to get to. We timed our outing perfectly because the lavender was in full bloom during our visit, making for some really beautiful photos.

This particular flower farm has six different lavender varieties – all of which are stunning! I’d never seen white lavender before! When we approached the lavender field, we could smell the soothing fragrance right away. The Terpstra family has done a really amazing job in welcoming their visitors to their beautiful farm – complete with benches and picnic tables for folks to sit, stay, and soak in scenery.

Be sure to visit their boutique before departing to get some of their small batch home and bath & body products. No visit is complete without purchasing a bouquet of their gorgeous cut lavender to adorn in your own home. I have little vases of lavender strewn all over the house and my office at work!

Final verdict on our lavender farm visit.

Even though it was a relatively short visit – I’d do it again! Honestly speaking, one cannot make a whole day of visiting a lavender farm, but we really enjoyed our excursion – however brief. If you are planning a visit to a lavender farm, I suggest you make it one of a few stops and add a couple other locales to fill in the day. We will surely be making a trip to this beautiful flower field in the not so distant future!
