Quarantine, isolation, lock down, state of emergency – this is the new (hopefully temporary) norm for Ontario! Since there isn’t a whole lot to do during a stay at home order I’ve been reading, cleaning and organizing my home, and online shopping of course! Because really – what else is there to do?

Enough Screen Time, Already!
Screen time isn’t really something we put a strict limit on in our house. But sometimes, enough is enough! Getting in some reading time is always a good idea – especially for school age kids! Reading is part of the at home learning curriculum – so why not make it interesting?!!
Roald Dahl was one of my fave authors when I was a kid! James and the Giant Peach was my go-to read when I was in grade school! So getting my daughter into reading these classic tales is an absolute pleasure!

Hair Care is Self Care
Tools of the trade need a little update here and there. The flat iron I was using just wasn’t cutting it anymore, so I bought a different one! This straightener does the job wonderfully! Adjustable temp setting, fast heating, and comfortable to use = success!
With the wavy soft curl hair trend happening right now I had to jump on the bandwagon! Found this curling rod set after Christmas – hello Boxing week sale – and it works wonders! Multiple rod sizes and quick to come to temperature makes for efficient styling!

Do you know how much a good pair of snow pants run?! Close to $100! After searching the sporting goods websites and refusing to pay what they were charging, I headed over to Amazon. This snow pants were just what I was looking for; pink, adjustable waist, reinforced knees, removable straps, and affordable!

Project at Home?
While completing our living room refresh I was hunting for a simple set of mantle brackets to fit the space and get the look I was going for. These brackets worked perfectly with a 1×8 board for a simple and inexpensive focal point! I’d highly recommend this product for a similar project or for modest shelves.
Another super useful (and new to me) tool for changing home decor are these metal cleats for picture hanging. These cleats are a two piece metal contraption for wall mounting heavier objects like mirrors, large prints, and metal or wood decor pieces.
Last summer I crafted some chevron arrows to adorn over my desk, but had no idea how to hang the awkward pieces. These cleats, which come in different lengths, helped to make the arrows a little more solid and made hanging them a cinch!

Working on My Photography Game!
